It was one of the few luxuries he afforded himself. Having windows on the moon was expensive, and a little dangerous, but being locked inside his labs for most of his waking hours made him crave the view into the abyss of space. Seeing the stars - [Beyond The Darkside: Chapter Four](https://mywriterscramp.com/beyond-the-darkside-chapter-four/) - Silence filled the lab as another test ended. The brief respite from the hours filled with the high-pitched whine of overworked power converters was a relief. Weeks of testing resulted in little progress in containing the massive energy output of Aldric’s dimensional collapses. The three of them counted it a victory that they could shunt - [Beyond the Darkside: Chapter Six](https://mywriterscramp.com/beyond-the-darkside-chapter-six/) - The desk in front of him was empty, but Aldric stared at its surface with all the intensity of a laser. Shoving Evan out of an airlock crossed - [Beyond The Darkside: Chapter 10](https://mywriterscramp.com/beyond-the-darkside-chapter-10/) - The dimensional rift closed with a bang they could hear despite the heavy shielding and soundproofing that went into the conversion chamber. The excess energy created was fed back - [Beyond the Darkside: Chapter Twelve](https://mywriterscramp.com/beyond-the-darkside-chapter-twelve/) - Doctor Margaret Vo heard the scream of the alarm. Part of the reason for the change is that it became my primary focus as - [And The Baby Elephant Walk Played On...](https://mywriterscramp.com/and-the-baby-elephant-walk-played-on/) - Eleven years ago today I became the luckiest man in the world. A little while ago I set a goal for myself - [Picking up the Pace](https://mywriterscramp.com/picking-up-the-pace/) - The number of views on my blog is down from last month and way down from the month before. Last month it really bothered me, but this month I am completely ambivalent. So what has made the difference in my views and my attitude? Well the decrease in views has a lot to do with - [100-Day Challenge, Day 042](https://mywriterscramp.com/100-day-challenge-day-042/) - “Yes. I like the Green Lantern character (especially when he went nuts and became Parallax...that's right...a nearly 20 year old comic book reference) and I like Ryan Reynolds, but something about this movie release - [Forgotten Works](https://mywriterscramp.com/forgotten-works/) - So last year, when I still used Myspace, I had started retyping some of the short/flash fiction I had written back when I was 19-20. I would correct any grammar and punctuation issues then post them on my blog as an exquisite form of self-torture. I only managed to post two or three such pieces - [Progress and Overload](https://mywriterscramp.com/progress-and-overload/) - Well it is a time for decisions I think, but before I get into that let me give you a little update on where I am with all of my various projects. [Beyond the Darkside](https://mywriterscramp.com/series/beyond-the-darkside/) - Power and Terror intermingle on the dark side of the moon as forbidden science opens a door that should have stayed closed. - [Reviews](https://mywriterscramp.com/series/reviews/) - From time to time I’ve been known to review a book, game, movie, television show or album. The important thing to remember is that Reviews are opinions and nothing more. It really doesn’t matter how fantastic your education is, when it comes right down to it a review by anyone is just an opinion. As a rule I have used movie reviews as a way to decide what I should go see…I wait to see what they think is awful and head straight for it. For the most part I find myself enjoying the movies that are found lacking by critics. To me, entertainment, in all of its forms, is about pleasure. It is great when my entertainment makes me think about something I normally wouldn’t, or question something I hadn’t before, but some times I just want to enjoy things exploding or sucking the braincells out my ear…I do it for the pleasure. So what does that mean about my reviews? Well it means that when I do a review I’m generally going to give a positive review to things I enjoy and a negative review to things I don’t. I’m not going to spend my time ripping apart a movie or book to share with you how much I did or din’t like a particular aspect, but I’ll make sure you know what I thought about it. If you disagree with me? Awesome! There are times when you will and I hope you tell me about it and why. The only thing I ask is that you stay away from personal attacks, because, well they’re just not nice and really less than productive. Everyone has an opinion, and if you’re reading this then you’re probably a little interested in mine, so have a read and enjoy. - [Book Sales](https://mywriterscramp.com/series/book-sales/) - [Sales and Marketing](https://mywriterscramp.com/series/sales-and-marketing/) ## Product categories - [Books](https://mywriterscramp.com/product-category/books/) - [Armageddon Angels](https://mywriterscramp.com/product-category/books/armageddon-angels/) - [Paperback](https://mywriterscramp.com/product-category/books/paperback/) - [Hardback](https://mywriterscramp.com/product-category/books/hardback/) - [e-book](https://mywriterscramp.com/product-category/books/e-book/) ## Product tags - [Urban Fantasy](https://mywriterscramp.com/product-tag/urban-fantasy/) - [Supernatural](https://mywriterscramp.com/product-tag/supernatural/) - [angels](https://mywriterscramp.com/product-tag/angels/) - [demons](https://mywriterscramp.com/product-tag/demons/) - [dark fantasy](https://mywriterscramp.com/product-tag/dark-fantasy/) - [Fiction](https://mywriterscramp.com/product-tag/fiction/) - [Hardback](https://mywriterscramp.com/product-tag/hardback/) - [angels; witches;](https://mywriterscramp.com/product-tag/angels-witches/) - [monsters](https://mywriterscramp.com/product-tag/monsters/) - [faeries](https://mywriterscramp.com/product-tag/faeries/) - [wizards](https://mywriterscramp.com/product-tag/wizards/) ## Book Categories - [Urban Fantasy](https://mywriterscramp.com/book-category/urban-fantasy/) - [Science Fiction & Fantasy](https://mywriterscramp.com/book-category/science-fiction-fantasy/) - [Fantasy](https://mywriterscramp.com/book-category/fantasy/) - [Paranormal & Urban](https://mywriterscramp.com/book-category/paranormal-urban/) - [Contemporary](https://mywriterscramp.com/book-category/contemporary/) - [Urban](https://mywriterscramp.com/book-category/urban/) ## Book Series - [Armageddon Angels](https://mywriterscramp.com/book-series/armageddon-angels/) - [Apocalypse Rising](https://mywriterscramp.com/book-series/apocalypse-rising/) ## Book Authors - [Eric Swett](https://mywriterscramp.com/book-author/ericswett/) - My name is Eric Swett. I’m a writer. I’ll even go so far as to say I’m an author since I have published a book and some short fiction. I am the keeper of this blog and its contents. I originally started this as a place to share my writing, but it has grown into something more. From here I have written four books with another one on the way. I write book reviews and share little tidbits of my life along the way. Writing is not all that I do though. I work in IT and do a little web design on the side, but believe it or not there is even more to me than my passion and my job. Above all of that I am a husband and father. I have a beautiful wife named Tracy and three fabulous children (Zachary, Connor, and Kaitlyn). Between the four of them I have absolutely everything I really need in this world. If everything else went away and I still had them, I could die and count myself a fortunate man. I’m a Christian that believes in science and following the example set by Jesus rather than some odd evolution (see what I did there) of the faith that has publicly strayed from its beginnings. I’m a self-proclaimed Geek and I do not adhere to a single form of geekdom. I like roleplaying games, tabletop games with painted miniatures, video games, comic books, science fiction and fantasy, Star Wars, Star Trek and Doctor Who. I could fill up this page with all of the geekery I enjoy, but this short list will suffice for now. ## Book Publishers - [Independently published](https://mywriterscramp.com/book-publisher/independently-published/)
