I really enjoyed this book. I hadn’t time to read the first book before starting this one, however I didn’t feel as if I was missing out on any information, because Eric ensures he weaves all the relevant information back in through the story.
This isn’t my normal type of book however I was hooked as soon as I began reading. Kohaku Hitaratsu is a relatable and interesting character with so many levels. It was exciting to watch him fall from the power he’d built himself back down to having nothing because he starts off as a character we aren’t supposed to like. However then he starts to rebuild his life again, this time in another way and we become more empathetic to him.
It was a nice look at God, Angels, Demons, creatures and humans in a way that wasn’t too in your face. I definitely enjoyed the book and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to read something different with believable characters.
