A dark fantasy novella from the Armageddon Angels series by Eric Swett
I’m excited to announce that my latest book, The Hell Forged Wizard, will officially launch on Kickstarter this April 29th. This dark fantasy novella is a new addition to the Armageddon Angels series—a standalone tale that delves into the shadowy origins of one of the saga’s most enigmatic villains, Matthew Finitz.
Set between the events of The Coming Darkness and A Murder of Wizards, this story follows Matthew after he’s been deceived by the Angel of Death and cast into Hell. But instead of being broken by torment, he begins to plot his escape. Through brutal trials, demonic bargains, and the unrelenting pursuit of power, Matthew becomes something far more dangerous than Hell ever expected—a wizard forged by fire and fury.
Why Kickstarter?
Although this is a shorter work than the previous full-length novels in the series, novellas still require time, care, and professional polish. The campaign’s funding goal of $1,250 will go directly toward:
- Professional editing
- Cover design and layout
- Printing and fulfillment for backer rewards
- Basic promotion to help the story reach new readers
This campaign is also a way to bring the community into the process. Your support helps ensure that stories like this—bold, dark, character-driven fantasy—can continue to thrive outside of traditional publishing models.
What to Expect
The Kickstarter will offer a variety of reward tiers, including digital editions, signed paperbacks, and bundles with other books from the Armageddon Angels series like Apocalypse Rising and Apocalypse in the Balance. There will also be early bird specials for those who pledge within the first 24 hours, and stretch goals including audiobook production and bonus digital content if we exceed our target.
