So this morning I get up and head downstairs. Coffee and raisin bran round out my wake up routine before I sit down to do some writing. I work at it for about 30 minutes then I start to feel pain shooting from my elbow up to my skull. The further along the day went the more the pain grew. I slapped a little Icy Hot on my neck, took some Tylenol and headed off to Connor’s last day of soccer camp.
Soccer camp was fine. I was hurting and I was a little less animated than usual while helping the coach, but I made it through. We went home and I got lunch together for the family. The only problem was that every little stretch shot pain right through me.  My loving wife Tracy convinced me, despite my bullheaded maleness, that I needed to go to the doctor.
So to the doctor checks me out and makes sure that nothing too bad is going on, prescribes me three different mess and tells me not to drive.
This is one of my last days of vacation. So I’m getting to spend it drugged up lying on the couch watching Netflix.Â
Oh well.Â
Shit happens.

“So I’m getting to spend it drugged up lying on the couch watching Netflix.”
Pretty much how I spent my entire 20’s! 8)
Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks man. How goes the writing?

Almost a chapter a day, most of it utter crap! That’s what rewrites are for I guess! POV is kicking my ass right now. I try to keep each chapter or scene in one character’s head but some of the stuff I’ve written over the past few days may be better served with omniscient POV. Probably need to worry about these things once it’s all down.
Taking 2 days off of writing and working out, been greasing the groove on push ups past few weeks, upper body muscles are very tender right now. Vegged on wine, food and Xbox yesterday! Writing starts up again tomorrow. Thanks for askin.

POV can be brutal. On one of my larger projects I’ve decided that it needs to be changed from first to third person person…oh yes…40k words worth of revision. I feel your pain.

Say it ain’t so, Joe! But it is a sneaky way of getting in your 100 words. But I didn’t count them. . . 🙄
Eric Swett
I didn’t count it either. The 100 word thing is strictly for that story. My major goal is 500 a day, but I allow myself the luxury of a monthly average on that.
